Design Challenge

How can we design an inclusive and accessible interface to help visually impaired citizen scientists engage with Arisa Lab’s educational content around experiencing the solar eclipse?

Proposed Solution

  • Adhere to Universal Learning Design Principles and WCAG accessibility guidelines

    • Particular emphasis on blind and low visio​n

  • Utilize Existing mental models

  • Structured Information

    • Hierarchy

    • Chunking large text passages

    • Utilize bullet points!
